John is currently an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for our program. His duties include recruiting, scouting opponents, assisting with team training sessions, matches and running all goalkeeper training. He has demonstrated a high-level professionalism and knowledge in all responsibilities.
Several times this past fall John was sent to scout future opponents. I found his scouting reports to be very detailed and accurate. They were a great asset in preparation for our matches. He was able to identify opponent’s strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies which helped us formulate our tactical approach.
This season he worked with a young core of goalkeepers and really improved their technique and understanding of the position. He builds each training session by re-enforcing technical work and moving to situations our opponents may present in matches. Our goalkeepers enjoy his coaching style and respond well to his sessions. Our starting goalkeeper was named to the All-Conference team for the second year in a row.
