Obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Education/Teacher
Certification/History from Caldwell University.
Plaugic currently holds a Certificate in the State of New Jersey to teach Social Studies at the K-12 grade levels. Currently a 7th grade Social Studies teacher at Lincoln Middle School in Kearny, NJ.Plaugic is also a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/United Soccer Coaches United States Soccer Federation.

Coaching Career
Plaugic has recently completed his 4th season as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Rutgers University (Newark) the Scarlet Raiders compete in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. In his 4 seasons with Rutgers (Newark) the Scarlet Raiders have broken every single school record and clinched 3 births into the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament as well as an ECAC Crown.Plaugic previously was the Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach at
St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, NJ. During Plaugic’s four year tenure, St. Benedict’s Preparatory School had a 79-4 record and won the New Jersey Prep A State Championship four years in a row as well as two back-to-back National Championships during the 2011 & 2012 seasons.

St. Benedict’s Prep has been recognized by ESPN RISE, NSCAA & Elite Soccer Report as the best High School Boys Soccer program in the USA. These back to back National Championships give St. Benedict’s Prep its 8th National Championship in school history.

In Plaugic’s four seasons at St. Benedict’s Prep the Gray Bee’s only conceded 27 goals in 79 games and had a tenacious defensive record, conceding less than half a goal per game (0.34 GAA) and collecting 60 shutouts in 79 games.

Under Plaugic’s tutelage each of the past three St. Benedict’s Prep Goalkeepers have been named to the All-Prep team by the Star Ledger. Christopher Lands (2009) made Second Team All-Prep.

Plaugic’s first National Champion goalkeeper at St. Benedict’s Prep, Thomas Bull (2010 & 2011) had been named First Team All-Prep by the Star Ledger for two consecutive seasons and had been selected to the ESPN RISE New Jersey All-State Team two years in a row.

2012 National Championship goalkeeper Mateo Zabala has been named to MSG Varsity All-New Jersey Boys Soccer First-Team & 3rd Team All-Prep by the Star Ledger.

Plaugic previously was a staff member for Red Bull New York Regional Developmental School (RDS) as the Head Goalkeeper Coach at the Pre-Academy level. The New York Red Bulls set the pace for player development in Major League Soccer as the first professional team to boast a satellite-based, academy feeder system.

Plaugic also was the New Jersey Wildcats USL W-League Goalkeeper Coach. The W-League is also an open league, giving college players the opportunity to play alongside established international players while maintaining their collegiate eligibility.

Plaugic was awarded a Goalkeeping Director position with NO. 1 Soccer Camps which was founded by Joseph A. Machnik.
Dr. Joe served as Assistant Coach to the United States Men’s National Team at the 1990 World Cup in Italy.

Playing Career
A native of Kearny, NJ and graduate of Kearny High School, Plaugic was a 2002 NJSIAA Boys Group IV State Champion at Kearny. After graduating Kearny High School, Plaugic accepted an athletic and academic scholarship to continue playing soccer at Monmouth University.

During the transition from high school to playing collegiately Plaugic was a goalkeeper with the NY/NJ Metrostars
(now Red Bull New Yorku19 level.

After completing one season at Monmouth University, Plaugic transferred to Caldwell University. At Caldwell University, Plaugic was a 3 year starting goalkeeper, team captain, 2009 Regular Season CACC Champion and a two time All-CACC selection for the Cougars.

After college Plaugic played professional soccer in the Norwegian 2. Divisjon for Kolstad FK.
